Under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, and Prof. Ahmed Helal, Dean of Faculty of Education, and as part of the faculty efforts toward accreditation, Quality Assurance Unit at Faculty of Education organized a workshop titled:
“Academic Standards (Program and Course Specifications) – 2025 Edition”
The workshop was held on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Hall (1). The workshop was delivered by Prof. Lola Abdel Wahhab, a member of the University Quality Team, with the participation of 65 academic staff and assistant staff.
The workshop aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills related to academic standards and the preparation of program and course specifications according to the 2025 edition. The activities began with Dr. Marwa Nabil, Director of Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty, welcoming Prof. Lola Abdel Wahhab, a member of the University Quality Team, as well as the participating academic staff and assistant staff.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
• The concept of academic standards and their importance in ensuring the quality of education.
• Steps for preparing course specifications according to updated templates.
• Required documents for preparing academic program specifications.
• Developing measurable intended learning outcomes.
• Aligning learning outcomes with academic content, teaching strategies, and assessment methods.
At the conclusion of the workshop, a question was raised to the workshop lecturer, Prof. Lola Abdel Wahhab, regarding whether the standards should be written in Arabic exactly as stated in the standards adopted by the accreditation authority, or whether they should be translated into English or French according to the language of instruction and specialization of the academic program.
She explained that the suggestion would be presented to Prof. Sabah Sharshour, Director of the University Quality Assurance Center, for further consideration.
The workshop concluded at 1:00 PM.
