Faculty of Education at Tanta University Hosts Workshop on Action Research Applications in Special Education and Psychological Counseling


   Faculty of Education at Tanta University organized a specialized workshop titled “Applications of Action Research in Special Education and Psychological Counseling (Towards Conscious Classroom Practice)”, as part of joint cooperation with the Directorate of Education in Gharbia Governorate.
   The event was held under the framework of the “Teacher-Researcher Support” initiative, implemented through the Communication and Teacher Support Unit, and organized by Postgraduate Studies Department of the faculty. The workshop took place on Thursday, February 12th, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
   The workshop was prepared and supervised by Dr. Enas Ibrahim, Lecturer of Mental Health at the Faculty, with the participation of a group of teachers and psychological specialists. It aimed to provide both scientific and practical insights into the application of action research methodologies within special education and psychological counseling settings.
The program covered several key themes, including:
•    The concept of action research in special education and psychological counseling
•    Data collection tools
•    Designing an action research plan
•    Implementation and evaluation processes
•    Ethical considerations in action research
   The practical component of the workshop focused on training participants to design an integrated, evidence-based classroom action research project. The initiative sought to promote greater integration between teachers and psychological specialists, ultimately fostering more informed and reflective classroom practices.
   The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably; encouraging participants to implement action research in their classrooms, and organizing follow-up workshops in the future to sustain professional development efforts.
