Faculty of Education held the fourth meeting at the office of Prof. Ahmed Hilal, Dean of the Faculty, in attendance of Dr. Mirvat Fayed, Director of the Communication and Teacher Support Unit at the Gharbia Directorate of Education, along with the following attendees:
Dr. Walid Tal’at Al-Hamaqi, Dr. Khaled Rabie Al-Ashmawi, Dr. Mohamed Hamza Shenishen, Dr. Heba Younes Abdel Latif, Dr. Ola Abdel Hamid Abu Taleb, Ms. Nahla Ismail Bassiouny, and Dr. Sabah Tawfiq Abdul Khaliq, representing schools and educational administrations in Gharbia Governorate.
Faculty Dean welcomed the attendees and reviewed the plan of the faculty for the upcoming phase, both in terms of training and scientific research. The meeting was also attended by:
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Refa’i, Professor of Curricula Teaching Methodology of Mathematics and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Hamdy Ahmed, Professor of Curricula and Teaching Methodology of Commercial Sciences, Dr. Mohamed Tork, Coordinator of the Scientific Publishing Unit, and Dr. Abdullah Hegazy, Coordinator of the Scientific Publishing Unit.
Following the meeting, the guests proceeded to the Scientific Publishing Unit laboratory in the educational building (1), where Prof. Ahmed Al-Refa’i conducted a training workshop entitled “An Introduction to Action Research”. The workshop lasted approximately one hour and addressed the concept of action research, its importance, types, and steps, with various examples, as well as an overview of key local and international journals in this field. He also presented the planned topics for upcoming training workshops focusing on action research.
For his part, Prof. Hamdy Ahmed conducted a workshop entitled “Moving Toward Transforming Collected Data into an Organized Research Study”, which lasted for two hours. During the workshop, he discussed the reasons for conducting scientific research, the cycle of certainty and the continuum of rationality in educational research, sources of knowledge, and how to move from collected data to initiating a structured educational research study. He also presented an outline of training topics extending over a two-month period.
At the conclusion of the two workshops, positive discussions and interactions took place among the participants.
