"The Importance of Rationalizing the Consumption of Our Resources to Preserve the Rights of Future Generations", a Symposium at Tanta Faculty of Education


   In the light of the commitment of Tanta University to raising students' awareness and creating a suitable environment for their comprehensive development and preparation, and under patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Ahmed Helal, Faculty Dean, Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Public Service Center, in cooperation with the Education and Student Affairs Sector and the South Delta Electricity Distribution Company, organized an awareness symposium titled: "The Importance of Rationalizing the Consumption of Our Resources to Preserve the Rights of Future Generations”. It was held on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in Hall (2) of the Public Service Center.
   For his part, Prof. Walid Samir, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, expressed his gratitude to the esteemed guest speakers, emphasizing the importance of such symposiums in raising students’ awareness, educating them, and preparing them for professional life alongside their academic development.
   In addition, Prof. Yasser Bayoumi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of electrical energy as a fundamental pillar of economic and social development. He pointed out the role of Ministry of Electricity and Energy in implementing the state's development plans and encouraged attendees to benefit from the experiences and insights shared by the guest speakers.
   Further, Eng. Ghada El-Sherbiny, General Director of Energy Conservation at the South Delta Electricity Distribution Company, expressed her pleasure at being at the faculty. She outlined the state’s efforts to expand energy production to meet growing demand and diversify energy sources, particularly solar and wind energy. She explained the advantages of solar energy and the mechanisms the government uses to manage its users.
   Furthermore, Eng. Marwa Noufal, Energy Conservation Engineer at the Western Gharbia Sector Headquarters, tackled the concept of rationalization, clarifying that it does not mean prohibition, restriction, or miserliness, but rather the optimal and rational use of resources. She presented practical strategies for reducing electricity consumption and outlined ways to distinguish between high- and low-energy-consuming devices. She also highlighted the policies adopted by the Ministry to achieve effective energy conservation that helps preserve the country's resources, ease the burden on citizens, and safeguard the rights of future generations.
   The symposium ended at 1:00 p.m., with positive engagement from the attendees, who expressed their appreciation for the valuable information and practical experiences, which will have a significant impact on their awareness and future behavior.
