Faculty of Education Hosts a Symposium on “Determinants of Egyptian and Regional National Security”


   As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance student awareness of current affairs, Faculty of Education at Tanta University organized a symposium titled “Determinants of Egyptian and Regional National Security”. It was held in collaboration with the Gharbia Media Office affiliated to State Information Service, under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of the University, and Ahmed Helal, Dean of the Faculty.
   The symposium took place on March 15th, 2026, at Public Service Center. Proceedings began with a ceremonial flag parade by scout teams and Student Union members, followed by the Egyptian national anthem and a Quran recitation by a fourth-year Arabic student.
   In his opening remarks, Prof. Walid Samir Ali, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, welcomed attendees and emphasized the relevance of the topic amid current regional challenges, noting the stability of Egypt and the importance of informed student awareness.
   The keynote lecture was delivered by Prof. Mohammed Hegazy Sherif, Professor of Political Science at Cairo University, provided a structured analysis of national security. He outlined its fundamental pillars, stressing the strategic importance of water, food, and economic security as core national priorities.
   The symposium concluded at 1:00 PM, leaving attendees with valuable insights and reinforcing the importance of such academic events in building informed, aware, and engaged students.
